VEWI is a family firm which is expanding rapidly, both due to our attentiveness and the trust which our customers place in us.

VEWI has been working successfully with restaurant chains, authorities and distribution chains for a number of years.

The history of our company

1979
Raphaël Vermeiren and his wife Brigitte Willame embark on market gardening, focusing on growing chicory.

1990
The Vermeirens decide to add value to their raw material and turn their attention to making ready meals.
They start by selling vacuum-cooked chicory roulade (new cooking process at the time).
The company name, VEWI, is formed by combining their two surnames.

Mid-1990s
The firm diversifies its range and its customers. New industrial buildings are erected.

Early 2000s
Both the range of products and the firm grow naturally thanks to quality products, a tailored service and a relationship of trust with customers and suppliers.

2005
Industrial building extended and new offices built.
After completing her marketing studies, Aline, the youngest Vermeiren daughter, joins her parents on the VEWI team.

2008
The entire team is proud to announce its ISO 22000 certification.
After working for several years in finance, Julie, the eldest Vermeiren daughter, joins the rest of the family.

In the future
VEWI continues to develop its range and continually strives to improve its quality and flexibility.
Export is now one of VEWI’s new challenges.
